You are responsible for reviewing ingredient and allergy information before consuming any food product. VolcanoBox is NOT liable for allergic reactions, foodborne illness, or health consequences from product consumption.

1. Food & Imported Product Disclaimer

VolcanoBox offers a curated selection of cultural food products, homemade items, and imported goods sourced from independent suppliers and vendors. Many products are imported from Central America, South America, the Caribbean, and other regions. Imported foods may differ significantly from Canadian food standards, labeling requirements, and product consistency. This Disclaimer outlines important considerations, risks, and customer responsibilities regarding food and imported product purchases. IMPORTANT: You are responsible for reviewing ingredient and allergy information before consumption.

2. Imported Product Variations

2.1 Labeling Differences Imported products may have: • Ingredient labels in Spanish, Portuguese, or other languages • Nutrition information formatted differently than Canadian standards • Missing or incomplete ingredient lists (per home country standards) • No bilingual labeling (Canada requires English/French for domestic products) • Ingredient descriptions unfamiliar to North American consumers 2.2 Packaging Variations Imported products may differ in: • Package size or format (non-standard portions) • Expiration/best-before date format • Storage instructions in foreign languages • Packaging materials or design • Freshness or shelf-life upon arrival 2.3 Ingredient Differences Products sourced internationally may: • Contain different ingredient sources than Canadian equivalents • Use different additives or preservatives (legal in origin country) • Have different preparation methods • Contain different proportions of ingredients • Taste, texture, or appearance different from familiar brands 2.4 Nutritional Variations Nutritional content may: • Differ from Canadian product equivalents • Be inaccurately labeled in source country • Change based on sourcing variability • Not match claimed values exactly • Include undeclared additives or processing methods 2.5 NOT Grounds for Refund These natural variations are NOT defects and do NOT qualify for refund unless: • Product is damaged, spoiled, or unsafe • Ingredient information was materially false • Product cannot be consumed as described

3. Food Safety & Handling

3.1 Your Responsibility You are responsible for: • Inspecting products immediately upon delivery • Verifying ingredients match your dietary needs • Proper storage according to instructions • Checking expiration/best-before dates • Proper preparation and cooking (if required) • Safe consumption practices 3.2 Storage After Delivery Upon arrival: • Inspect packaging for damage • Check for signs of spoilage or contamination • Store in appropriate temperature (refrigerated/frozen as needed) • Follow storage instructions on packaging • Use product before expiration date 3.3 Spoilage & Safety If product arrives spoiled: • Do NOT consume • Document with photos • Contact support immediately • Full refund issued without requiring return VolcanoBox is not responsible for spoilage that occurs after delivery or due to improper storage by customer. 3.4 Food Preparation When preparing food products: • Follow instructions on packaging • Cook to proper temperatures (if required) • Avoid cross-contamination • Wash utensils and surfaces after handling • Practice safe food handling 3.5 Inspection Before Consumption Before consuming any product: • Verify appearance and smell (discard if abnormal) • Check expiration date • Confirm ingredients match dietary restrictions • Look for visible signs of contamination or damage

4. Allergen & Allergy Responsibility

4.1 CRITICAL: Allergy Management Customers with known allergies are responsible for: • Reviewing detailed ingredient information before purchase • Confirming compatibility with known allergies • Contacting VolcanoBox before ordering if unsure • NOT relying on incomplete information 4.2 Cross-Contamination Risk Many imported food products are prepared in: • Shared kitchen spaces or facilities • Kitchens not certified for allergen-free production • Home-based kitchens with no allergen protocols • Facilities also processing other allergens Cross-contamination risk exists even if primary allergens are not listed. 4.3 Undeclared Allergens Some products may contain: • Trace allergens not listed on label • Shared equipment exposure • Airborne allergen risk • Ingredient sourcing with allergen contact VolcanoBox provides ingredient information as available but cannot guarantee allergen safety. 4.4 Homemade Products Homemade food items prepared by home-based kitchens: • May not have allergen testing or verification • May be prepared on shared equipment • May have undocumented ingredient sourcing • Consumption is entirely at your risk 4.5 Pre-Purchase Consultation If you have severe allergies: • Email support@volcanobox.ca BEFORE ordering • Provide specific allergy concerns • Request detailed ingredient verification • Allow 3-5 business days for response 4.6 Allergy Liability Waiver By purchasing food products, you acknowledge: • You have reviewed ingredient information • You have confirmed compatibility with your allergies • Allergic reactions are entirely your responsibility • VolcanoBox is not liable for allergic reactions • You understand cross-contamination risks

5. Homemade & Artisanal Food Disclaimer

5.1 Non-Industrial Production Homemade food products offered through VolcanoBox: • Are prepared in home-based kitchens • Are NOT produced in certified food facilities • May not have health department inspections • Are not subject to industrial food safety standards • May have variable quality or consistency 5.2 Lack of Certification Home kitchens in many jurisdictions: • Do not require food handling certification • May not maintain industrial food safety protocols • May not have regular health inspections • Are not subject to CFIA or equivalent oversight 5.3 Risk Acceptance By purchasing homemade foods, you: • Accept risks of non-industrial production • Assume responsibility for safe handling • Waive liability claims for foodborne illness • Acknowledge lack of professional certification • Accept potential inconsistency in quality 5.4 Quality Variability Homemade items may have: • Slight variations in size, shape, or color • Different texture or consistency between batches • Variable ingredient sourcing • Handmade nature results in minor inconsistencies These are NOT defects and do NOT qualify for refund. 5.5 Storage & Freshness Homemade items: • May have shorter shelf life than commercial products • Require proper storage (refrigerated/frozen) • Should be consumed quickly after delivery • May spoil faster than comparable commercial products

6. Seasonal & Limited Availability

6.1 Seasonal Products Many cultural food items: • Are seasonal and only available during specific months • May be subject to harvest variability • May be unavailable if crop fails • May have limited regional availability 6.2 Limited Batch Availability Homemade and artisanal products: • Are made in small batches • Sell out quickly due to limited supply • Cannot be restocked if sold out • May be unavailable for extended periods 6.3 Substitutions If ordered item becomes unavailable: • Fulfillment partner may substitute with equal or greater value item • You will be notified and offered refund if unsatisfied • Substitutions are at VolcanoBox discretion 6.4 No Guarantee of Future Availability Just because a product was available previously: • Does NOT guarantee future availability • Supplier may discontinue product • Crop may fail or supplier unavailable • Regional availability may change

7. Import, Customs & Border Considerations

7.1 Customs Processing Imported products are subject to: • Canadian customs inspection • CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency) review • Tariff assessment and duties • Documentation and declaration requirements 7.2 Customs Delays Import delays may occur due to: • Standard customs processing (2-15 days average) • CFIA hold for inspection • Documentation missing or incomplete • Demand for additional information • Random or targeted inspection protocols These delays are NOT VolcanoBox responsibility and do NOT extend refund windows. 7.3 Duties & Tariffs Customers may be responsible for: • Import duties on certain products • Tariffs assessed by customs • Brokerage fees (if using customs broker) • GST/HST on imported goods VolcanoBox is not responsible for duty/tariff amounts or payment. 7.4 Product Seizure or Prohibition Customs may: • Prohibit entry of specific products • Seize items deemed non-compliant • Require destruction of non-compliant items • Issue fines or penalties If item is seized or prohibited: • VolcanoBox will notify you • Full refund issued (minus shipping) • Item will not be reshipped • VolcanoBox is not liable for seized goods 7.5 Documentation Requirements You may be required to: • Complete customs declarations • Pay duties or tariffs • Provide contact information for customs release • Accept responsibility for any fines VolcanoBox will provide documentation to assist but cannot guarantee customs clearance.

8. Freshness & Quality Assurance

8.1 Import Timeline Impact Freshness is impacted by: • Shipping transit time (7-30+ days depending on method) • Storage conditions during transit • Customs processing delays • Time from supplier to VolcanoBox to customer Some loss of freshness is inevitable with imported goods. 8.2 Quality Variability Due to import and handling processes: • Some freshness loss is normal and expected • Slight discoloration or texture changes may occur • Flavor may differ from fresh source • Shelf-life may be shorter than equivalent fresh item These are NOT grounds for refund unless product is unsafe or spoiled. 8.3 Non-Fresh Refund Criteria Refunds for quality issues require: • Documented proof of spoilage (photos) • Product visibly unsafe (mold, contamination) • Best-before date already passed • Product clearly defective (not just "not as fresh as hoped") Subjective freshness complaints do NOT qualify for refund. 8.4 Freshness Expectations Customers should expect: • Slight freshness loss from shipping time • Some color or texture variations • Potential shelf-life shorter than North American equivalents • Variable freshness due to supply chain

9. Regulatory & Labeling Compliance

9.1 Import Compliance VolcanoBox imports products that are: • Legally importable under Canadian regulations • Compliant with CFIA requirements • Subject to Food Safety Modernization Act • Cleared by customs authorities However, some products may not meet all Canadian food labeling standards if not repackaged/relabeled. 9.2 Labeling Variability Some imported products may: • Not have complete bilingual (English/French) labeling • Lack information required on Canadian packaged foods • Have ingredient lists in other languages • Lack allergen warnings if not required in origin country VolcanoBox provides supplementary information where available. 9.3 Responsibility for Compliance If VolcanoBox fails to comply with import regulations: • CFIA may seize or detain product • Customs may refuse entry • You may request refund • VolcanoBox bears responsibility for customs failures If YOU consume non-compliant product: • VolcanoBox is not liable for health consequences • You assumed risk by consuming 9.4 Health Claims VolcanoBox makes NO health claims about products: • We do not claim products cure, treat, or prevent disease • Nutritional claims are as stated on packaging only • We do not provide medical advice • Consult healthcare provider for health-related questions

10. Liability Limitation

10.1 VolcanoBox Is NOT Liable For: • Allergic reactions to food products • Foodborne illness or contamination • Ingredient variations from expected • Texture, taste, or quality disappointment • Spoilage or quality loss during storage (after delivery) • Homemade product quality or consistency • Freshness or shelf-life expectations • Imported product labeling or ingredient differences • Customs delays or duties • Storage or preparation issues • Health or nutritional concerns • Product substitutions • Seasonal unavailability 10.2 Risk Assumption By purchasing food products, you: • Accept all associated health risks • Waive claims against VolcanoBox for foodborne illness • Assume responsibility for food safety • Confirm you reviewed ingredient information • Accept responsibility for allergic reactions • Acknowledge homemade/import risks

11. Health or Safety Concerns

If you experience foodborne illness or health issues: 1. STOP consuming product immediately 2. Seek medical attention if severe 3. Document the product and packaging 4. Contact VolcanoBox within 24 hours of symptoms 5.
